Art Smith honored as the 2025 annual Kelvin Saulsberry Award winner
Raleigh, NC (August 27, 2025): At yesterday’s all-hands meeting, Cycle Labs proudly announced Art Smith as the recipient of the 7th Annual Kelvin Saulsberry Award. This award, which holds deep significance for our team, was established in memory of Kelvin Saulsberry, a beloved colleague we tragically lost in 2018. Since 2019, this annual honor has celebrated and memorialized Kelvin’s life and legacy, while recognizing employees who embody the exceptional traits that Kelvin exemplified.

About the 2025 Award Winner
This year, we are thrilled to honor Art Smith with the Kelvin Saulsberry Award. Art has been an essential part of Cycle Labs’ success, serving as a steadfast advocate for customers and a role model for his colleagues. His peers describe him as not only the “first line of defense with our customers” but also as someone who “brings unmatched diligence and care to every interaction.”
“Art has an incredible memory when it comes to customer issues, and he ensures that each customer—regardless of size—receives professional, thorough, and prompt support. His customer-first mindset sets the tone for our entire team,” shared one colleague.
Others echoed this sentiment, pointing to his genuine curiosity, proactive mindset, and relentless drive to get to the root of problems—not just fixing issues, but improving software and processes for everyone. “It’s not about checking a box or closing a ticket—it’s about making sure we’re delivering the best possible experience,” said another teammate.
Art is also known for his humor, humility, and camaraderie. “Art is possibly the funniest member of the Cycle team, but beyond that, I genuinely believe he cares more about the success of customers than anyone else in the company. He is passionate about making sure people are successful and has become a guide to me on what we need to do to ensure they are,” one colleague shared.
Perhaps most telling, a teammate reflected: “I knew Kelvin. I worked with Kelvin. Kelvin would take it as a compliment for his award to be given to Art. There isn’t anyone who exemplifies these characteristics more.”
