New test quality checks, enhanced Report Dashboard capabilities, and expanded VS Code tools help teams build, maintain, and troubleshoot automated tests more efficiently.
Raleigh, NC (November 3, 2026): Cycle Labs, a leader in enterprise test automation for complex supply chain and ERP environments, announced the release of Cycle 2.31, introducing new capabilities designed to improve automated test quality, streamline test development, and provide greater visibility into test execution. The release combines enhancements from Cycle 2.31.0 and 2.31.1, along with updates to the Cycle Testing VS Code extension.
As enterprise supply chain systems become increasingly complex, maintaining reliable, reusable automated tests is essential to reducing risk and keeping pace with change. Cycle 2.31 addresses these challenges with automated test quality checks, consistent CycleScript formatting, expanded development tools, and improvements to the Report Dashboard that make it easier to monitor execution and investigate failures.
Improving Test Quality and Consistency
Cycle 2.31 introduces new test quality checks that help teams identify potential issues in their automated test libraries before they affect broader testing efforts. The new cycle-cli audit command evaluates an entire project against Cycle’s test quality rules, categorizing findings by severity to help teams prioritize improvements.
These same rules are incorporated into Cycle’s validation capabilities, allowing developers to identify issues within individual Feature Files before conducting a full project audit. Quality checks are also available through Cycle MCP, enabling AI-assisted workflows to review test libraries and compare test implementations.
To further improve consistency, Cycle 2.31 adds automatic Feature File formatting in the Desktop IDE. When a file is saved, Cycle can standardize indentation, spacing, keyword capitalization, and blank lines without changing how the test executes. Developers can also format files manually and preserve custom step indentation when needed.
Together, these enhancements help teams maintain cleaner, more consistent test libraries while reducing the effort required to review and maintain automated tests.
Greater Visibility and Control in the Report Dashboard
Cycle 2.31.0 and 2.31.1 deliver significant improvements to the Report Dashboard, making it easier for testers to follow execution progress, navigate complex scenarios, and troubleshoot failures.
The updated dashboard more closely reflects the structure of CycleScript Feature Files, with expandable conditional statements and loops that organize execution details. Enhanced navigation includes a Jump to Failure capability, improved step search with match counts, and direct links from test results to the corresponding Feature File.
Additional improvements include more readable execution durations, automatic light and dark mode support, and terminal captures displayed directly within step details. Terminal captures retain their text formatting and can be selected and copied for further investigation. Updated Tailing functionality automatically follows executing steps through conditional statements and loops, helping testers monitor progress without manually navigating through results.
These improvements provide a clearer view of test execution, helping teams locate failures and investigate issues more efficiently.
Streamlining Test Development with VS Code Extension 1.22
The Cycle Testing VS Code extension continues to expand the tools available to developers working with CycleScript.
Version 1.22 introduces a visual API Request editor that allows developers to create, edit, and execute API requests directly within VS Code. Its Save and Test Request capability saves the request and executes it using Cycle’s native request functionality, allowing developers to review responses without leaving their development environment.
The extension also supports automatic Feature File formatting on save, with configurable settings for preserving step indentation. These capabilities help developers maintain consistent test formatting whether they work in the Cycle Desktop IDE or VS Code.
Additional improvements strengthen the reliability of the extension, including more resilient language server startup and improved Report Dashboard connection handling. VS Code Extension 1.22 requires Cycle 2.31.0 or later.
Expanding Intelligent Discovery and Test Creation
Cycle 2.31 also builds on Cycle Intelligence capabilities by expanding Intelligent Discovery coverage for Blue Yonder warehouse operations. New questionnaire and discovery map support includes three additional workflows covering terminal inbound receiving with distribution, terminal inbound receiving and hop, and terminal outbound carton picking and packing.
These additions help teams identify relevant testing requirements and generate recommendations for additional warehouse process coverage.
Improvements to Intelligent Formulation also support more efficient test generation, including the ability to create reusable scenarios for common workflows shared across multiple test specifications. This helps reduce duplication and promotes consistency across generated tests.
Continuing to Improve Reliability
In addition to these new capabilities, Cycle 2.31 includes targeted fixes across the Desktop IDE, Report Dashboard, API request handling, Blueprint operations, and test execution.
These updates address issues affecting file saving, variable handling, prompt steps, application responsiveness, and other development workflows, reinforcing Cycle Labs’ ongoing commitment to platform stability and reliability.
“As automated test libraries grow, maintaining quality and understanding test results become just as important as creating the tests themselves,” said Andrew Knight, Senior Director of Product and Engineering at Cycle Labs. “With Cycle 2.31, we’re giving teams better ways to evaluate their tests, simplify development, and see what’s happening during execution. These improvements help our customers spend less time maintaining and troubleshooting tests and more time confidently validating the business processes their operations depend on.”
Cycle 2.31 is available to Cycle customers. Users are encouraged to upgrade to Cycle 2.31.1 to take advantage of the cumulative improvements included in this release. For complete details, refer to the user manual or contact the Cycle Labs Customer Care team at help@cyclelabs.io.
